1. Hindsight is 20/20
Take a look at last year’s calendar to get a rough projection of what may be ahead. Of course there are all the major holidays, but you might be forgetting about your friend’s annual Halloween party or that it’s your turn to host your family’s Thanksgiving. Taking a look into last year’s schedule can help you get an idea for what kind of time and financial commitments you might have coming up, giving you a much-needed heads up. Once you have this list of potential events, you may feel a bit overwhelmed. This is the perfect time to enlist some experts and get a head start on styling and gifts! The Emerald Scarab is here to furnish all your party needs for the upcoming holiday season.
2. Organize in style!
Remember the joy of a shiny new set of pens or a fresh notebook at the start of each school year? Well, just because you’re not in grade school anymore doesn’t mean you can’t go “back to school” shopping! A new tech case, electronic gadget, or (if you’re old school) paper organizer can invigorate your urge to plan. Or maybe a new bag to make you feel powerful and organized will do the trick! We’ve got some suggestions for you, combed from our favorite Fall 2013 collections:

Fall is fast approaching, and with a new season comes a newly invigorated social calendar! Whether you have something booked every weekend or just a few select events, we all love taking an evening off to dress up and celebrate. But in today’s world, we can get lost in More…
We know it’s early- you’re just getting used to your new sunnies, girls are finally developing their tan lines- but it’s never too early to build your fall look, especially since your fall wardrobe is already hitting stores. Last week, we covered Fall/Winter ’13 RTW collections and the trends that are sure to become closet staples this fall for women. This week it’s all about you, gentlemen.
The varsity-style bomber jacket was seen on almost every catwalk this season. With plush fabrics and a slim cut, this is one of the season’s easiest trends to master whether worn in the workplace or on the weekend. Our favorite? Missoni’s suede number with signature striped paneling, which looks perfect paired with slim, grey wool trousers. Grey worn head-to-toe made an appearance at the likes of Bottega Veneta, Viktor & Rolf, and Wooyoungmi and really popped when worn with contrasting hues and patterned underpinnings. Take your charcoal trousers to evening attire by adding the already infamous leather baseball jacket seen at Calvin Klein Collection. The loudest plaid you’ve ever seen, coined by many as “oversize squares”, will be in full swing this fall as well. If the full-check suits at Valentino are a bit strong, try a supersize square sweater from Jil Sander. Swapping a sweater for your usual shirt and tie is an easy wardrobe update that is stylish without trying too hard. Other overarching themes for fall- turtlenecks, hiking boots, and head-to-toe blue- will make clients notice and colleagues kowtow. Last but not least, invest in a camel outerwear jacket or a motorcycle leather. Either choice will elevate your 9-5 outfit and also make you stand out at dinner and drinks. If you’re feeling really daring, dawn a Salvatore Ferragamo or Maison Martin Margiela cape. It’s a bold look, but, hey, it’s time to stand out.
What trend are you most excited to incorporate into your work attire? We would love to know!
